The principal objective of the project is to recuperate, preserve and achieve the valorisation of the artisanal Patrimony of the common legacy of al-Andalus and Mahgreb. This can be done by means of research and cooperation in the technical training of young people, as well as the improvement of professionals. The aim is also to achieve participation in the field of heritage, ensuring its preservation as a basis for the strengthening of the local image and a new platform of employment as a fundamental strategy of cooperation between both territories.
Specific objectives:
- Preservation and enhancement of the culture, heritage, local identity and promotion of the cultural dialogue between both regions, on the basis of specific investigations aimed at gathering a "know-how" craft and thus prevent its disappearance creating a detailed record of the same
- Cooperation in the training of young people, in order to prepare professionals in the areas of Tangiers-Tetouan and Granada. Creation of a network of qualified professionals who can contribute to the conservation of heritage in both regions.
- Selection of emblematic buildings in historical centres and monumental sites in both regions, for their foreseeable conservation. They should have analogue stylistic and formal features as a result of the cultural exchange between the Nasrid and Marinid Courts during the 13th and 14th centuries.
- Cooperation in technological development, research and in the expansion of the Society of Information, promoting dialogue and cultural integration.
- Creating the network and necessary infrastructure for a reference centre of cooperation for training professionals in cultural conservation in both regions, on a permanent basis, enabling the continuity and sustainability of the project.
